Curve Digital is delighted to unveil the colourful retro-inspired racing game, Hotshot Racing, from Lucky Mountain Games and experienced racing genre stalwarts, Sumo Digital. Hotshot Racing channels classic arcade racers sporting colorful polygonal visuals, boost-fuelled drift gameplay and a silky smooth 60 frames per second in the game’s single-player modes regardless of platform.

Hotshot Racing is set to emulate and expand upon the classic ‘90s arcade racing game formula featuring eight different hotshot drivers to choose from (each with their own personality and multiple varied four-wheeled rides), 16 personality-filled sun-baked tracks from across the globe, and multiple game modes for players to prove their driving prowess.

“When we first played Hotshot Racing we were immediately transported to the halcyon days of our youth when we used to pop 50p coins into classic arcade racers like Virtua Racing, Crusin’ USA, SEGA Rally and others that used to punctuate seafronts across the UK” said Simon Byron, Curve Digital’s Publishing Director. “It’s fantastic to see this type of gameplay make a triumphant return and we can’t wait to see what people make of it!”

Hotshot Racing will also feature multiple single-player and multiplayer game modes - both online and offline including 4-player local split-screen co-op.

There’s the traditional Grand Prix mode where challengers race on multiple tracks in multi-round championship, Time Trial mode where players complete laps as they wish to seek out the fastest lap time for the online leaderboards, Cops and Robbers mode where the criminals need to evade capture to secure a big cash bonus whereas the police need to take them down, and the Drive or Explode where players need to race to checkpoints to avoid exploding.

Hotshot Racing is set to launch for PC and consoles later this Spring and is available to Wishlist on Steam from today via store.steampowered.com/app/609920/Hotshot_Racing

    • Lucky Mountain Games, Sumo Nottingham and Curve Digital are delighted to announce the release date for their multi-format poly-powered retro racer, Hotshot Racing.

Hotshot Racing will launch on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 on 10th September worldwide and will be priced at £15.99 / €19.99 / $19.99 USD.

Developed by racing game veterans Lucky Mountain Games and Sumo Nottingham (Outrun 2, Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing Transformed), Hotshot Racing is an all-new driving experience which revives the classic arcade gameplay of the 90s and thrusts it into the modern era. Featuring sharp retro visuals, sleek 60 frames per second gameplay on all platforms, multiple single-player championships, 8-player online game modes and 4-player local split-screen play, Hotshot Racing is sure to appeal to both veteran racers and those looking for a more casual pick-up and play experience.

“This game has been on a massive journey for the past decade from the initial concepts to Kickstarter pitch and now on the final stretch to launch,” said creative director Trevor Ley of Lucky Mountain Games. “We can’t wait to see all the in-game leaderboards light up with the fastest times from players and see multiplayer servers full to the rafters! We have plans for this game past launch as well, so it’ll be great to see what the world thinks of the game post-September 10th,” he added.

“As soon as we saw Hotshot Racing we absolutely fell in love with the concept, and working with Trevor on the game’s development has been a fruitful and joyous experience,” said Tom Turner studio production director at Sumo Nottingham. “Sumo Nottingham is known for producing some of the most beloved arcade racing experiences on the planet and we believe Hotshot Racing stands proudly side-by-side the best racing games we’ve developed."

Lucky Mountain Games, Sumo Nottingham and Curve Digital are also proud to confirm that Hotshot Racing will be available via Xbox Game Pass. All active subscribers from launch day onwards will be able to access the game on Xbox One as part of their ongoing subscription.

All those looking for a fresh injection of colourful, speed-fuelled nostalgia into their lives will be able to pre-order Hotshot Racing starting today on PC via Steam with pre-orders hitting other platforms prior to launch.

For the game’s full feature breakdown, please see below:

      GAME MODES
Time Trial and Grand Prix modes cater to those who like to compete in classic racing formats, while ‘Cops and Robbers’ and ‘Drive or Explode’ modes offer exhilarating new ways to play. Each mode is available in single-player, four-player split-screen and eight-player online, while Time Trial is single-player only. Single-player modes run at a blistering 60FPS to deliver one of the fastest depictions of racing possible. Smash lap records to rise-up the global online leaderboards or download ghost laps to match your racing lines against the very best.

      THE CIRCUITS
16 racing circuits provide the twists, turns and straights conducive to searingly quick racing. Take in coastal, jungle, alpine and Las Vegas desert environments, with each course modelled with the most vivid colours and blue skies for miles.

      MEET THE HOTSHOTS
Keiko, Xing, Mike, Alexa, Aston, Toshiro, Marcus and Viktor - eight speed addicts that have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of being the greatest racing driver in the world.

      CATCH THE DRIFT
Drifting is crucial in Hotshot Racing. Boost charges as the player drifts, so maintaining it for as long as possible is vital to preserving maximum speed throughout a race.

      DRIVE OR EXPLODE
In this mode each car has a bomb attached to it. Drop below a certain speed and BOOM! The trigger speed gets faster and faster, forcing players to maintain impossibly high speeds.

      COPS AND ROBBERS
Robbers evade the cops. Cops catch the robbers, and in doing so convert them to the police side, leading to an exciting test of skill for the surviving criminals.

Curve Digital, Sumo Nottingham and Lucky Mountain Games are delighted to announce that their blisteringly fast arcade racing game, Hotshot Racing, launches today for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Developed by esteemed racing game veterans Sumo Nottingham (Outrun 2, Sonic & SEGA All Star Racing, Team Sonic Racing and more) and Lucky Mountain Games, Hotshot Racing takes the colourful and iconic arcade racing formula of the 90s and updates it for the modern generation.

Featuring tracks in playfully reimagined locations from across the globe, drivers bursting with personality and an easy to pick up yet hard to master drift-centric gameplay, this new release is sure to be a winner with anyone who spent their formative years slinging coins into driving games at arcades. Thankfully though this arcade racer is easy on the wallet…

Hotshot Racing’s recommended retail price is £15.99 / €19.99 / $19.99 USD but during the week of launch, prospective racers can purchase the game for 20% off that price. Additionally, there are no microtransactions, and Sumo Nottingham and Lucky Mountain Games are already working on free post-release downloadable content in the guise of new tracks, a new championship and more! Further details on this exciting new content will be shared in the weeks ahead.

Xbox One Game Pass subscribers have even more reason to be excited as Hotshot Racing will be available on the service from launch.

For the full breakdown of Hotshot Racing’s extensive features, check out the rundown below:

      - RACE AROUND THE WORLD
Hotshot Racing features 16 tracks set across the globe with sharp corners providing technical yet enjoyable challenges. Take in coastal, jungle, alpine and Las Vegas desert environments, with each course modelled with the most vivid colours and blue skies for miles.

      - PLAY YOUR WAY (AGAINST AI, 8 PLAYER ONLINE and LOCAL 4 PLAYER SPLITSCREEN)
Time Trial and Grand Prix modes cater to those who like to compete in classic racing formats, while ‘Cops and Robbers’ and ‘Drive or Explode’ modes offer exhilarating new ways to play. Each mode is available in single-player, four-player split-screen and eight-player online, while Time Trial is single-player only. Smash lap records to rise-up the global online leaderboards or download ghost laps to match your racing lines against the very best.

      - 60FPS ON EVERY PLATFORM
Thanks to the awesome Sumo Engine, Hotshot Racing runs at a solid 60 frames per second in all single-player game modes! This 60FPS performance promise also includes basic Xbox One and PlayStation 4 models, as well as Nintendo Switch.

      - MEET THE HOTSHOTS
Keiko, Xing, Mike, Alexa, Aston, Toshiro, Marcus and Viktor - eight speed addicts that have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of being the greatest racing driver in the world. These racers have no qualms about rubbing fenders and quarter panels before reaching the chequered flag. Each racer has four unique vehicles which pay homage to some of the most iconic racing cars on the planet.

      - ADDITIONAL RACE TYPES
In addition to classic single race and championship game modes, Hotshot Racing also features two new signature game modes; Drive or Explode and Cops And Robbers. In Drive or Explode players must keep their vehicle above a minimum speed which continues to increase at regular intervals. Drop below that speed and the car begins to take damage. Too little speed or too many bumps with your fellow competitors and BOOM - game over! Cops And Robbers is an eight-player game mode which casts players as law enforcement or criminals. The robbers need to flee their pursuers while the cops need to catch them. Each robber apprehended is immediately drafted into the cops in this frenetic yet fun game of cat and mouse.

      - GOTTA UNLOCK ‘EM ALL
It’s only through mastery of these 16 courses that players will be able to unlock everything Hotshot Racing has to offer. Every race completed earns players dollars based on their performance which they can utilise to customise their ride from new chassis components to cockpit ‘improvements’ like furry dice and bobbleheads. There are dozens and dozens to choose from, some of which are unlockable with in-game currency whereas others are by achieving in-game objectives such as winning championships, drifting for a certain amount of time etc. All customisations are purely cosmetic and ensure your ride will appear different to your competitors when you roar over the finishing line.

Direkt gewonnen... :D
Läuft aber leider noch etwas laggy.
