      Ja, aber deshalb find ich den MP3-Teil noch nicht so wirklich spannend. Bis man nicht wirklich zeigt dass die MP3s über das Spiel abrufbar sind ists nicht viel anders als jeder 08/15-MP3-Player, nur dass der Ton eben wohl aus dem TV dröhnt.

      The MP3 player is designed to be controlled by serial communication. So sending 1 byte of information from the Jaguar can play up to 200 songs directly, and also change volume level, and provide other functions. So in games like Doom, playing music would be a simple case of sending 1 byte of serial information to select and play the required track. Like many Jag games, a volume interface could be added too. The nice part with this is Music can be played back with no system overhead, leaving more resources for the game.

      Unfortunately the case is made from a lot of pieces of many different shades. The Piano black looks a lot better in person that on the photos. However if this were to be produced, then I would probably have a Matte option to keep with the original style.

      In the USA CatBox usually sells for $200 or more. Link-Box should be able to be made for much less than that. Link-Box does not have the headphone Jack like CatBox, but it does everything else and more, and as it is only a prototype, we will be looking to make it the best we can.

      Note: Link-Box is much smaller than Cat-Box. It uses a standard RJ11 cable so it can connect directly to JagLink with no adapters. The RGB header is powered, so it offers more options for other video / monitor adapter circuits. Not forgetting the MP3 player which with the right software can play up to 3000 songs.

    • Hi Tenp6. Welcome to the forums and thanks for that information. Hope we'll hear something more about these projects in the future. An affordable alternative to the catbox is always welcome, especially if it adds some nice bonus like the mp3 player. Like i said in a previous post, I'm imagine a future homebrew game making use of the MP3 functionality in the game.

    • Pre Order ? uuuu das wird Teuer. Jaguar und Jaguar CD plus ein gutes Netzteil . Alleine die reinen Hardware Kosten dürften ja schon bei 300-400 Euro liegen. ( Das CD Laufwerk ist eben ab und zu teuer )
      Klar ein Traum ist das schon so ein Jaguar Duo.
      Wie beim Sega 32X und Mega Drive, wobei da der umbau ja recht einfach ist. ( zum Sega Neptun ;) ) Man braucht nur sehr viel Geduld.
      Denke mal der Umbau zu einem Jaguar Duo ist auch recht ähnlich.

    • Wäre imo nur ne Lösung, wenn man kein Jaguar CD schlachten müsste und vll ne Platine mit CD Bios + CD Einheit (die es heute noch zu kaufen gibt) baut. Da das Jaguar CD keine extra Hardware hat (wie das Mega CD) vll realisierbar. Aber mein CD-Rom würde ich nicht schlachten wollen.... wobei... ich hab ja ein zweites... :tooth:
