X02 Blowout!
We raid Microsoft's big event and give knowledge to those in need.

August 08, 2002 - Microsoft held their annual holiday season press event, X02, Thursday in New York. As luck would have it, two hapless IGN Xbox editors where in the Big Apple to crash the party. Microsoft had all its big games there and some big third-party games as well. Because we just can't keep anything to ourselves, we're sharing out newly amassed knowledge with you.

The future of Xbox looks pretty solid and there are plenty of good games coming out in the near future. Xbox Live launches in November and there will be downloadable content available for several games the day of launch. If the current Live games aren't enough for you, Microsoft is currently developing two massively multiplayer online RPGs, one in Japan and one in Australia. There will be over 100 games released on Xbox between now and the end of the year, so you best start saving up. One of those titles, Shenmue II may have a sequel in the works.

According to Xbox saint and all-around swell guy Ed Fries, "We're looking to work with Yu Suzuki beyond Shenmue II." Could this next title be Shenmue III, or is it perhaps hinting at Virtua Fighter: Evolution, the online version of Virtua Fighter 4? Imagine if VF: Evolution came packed in with Xbox Live. Dare to dream, my friends. Also of note, Halo has sold over two million copies worldwide. But who cares about Halo numero uno, it's all about Halo 2.

Bin gespannt wie lang wir uns noch gedulden müssen, bis es endgültig Offiziell wird, aber ich denke bis zur nächsten E3 wirds wohl noch dauern...Shenmue III...VF...süße Träume haben werde.
